Dr. Dallas Breen
Dr. Breen is Executive Director for the John C. Stennis Institute of Government and Community Development and Assistant Research Professor in Political Science and Public Administration at Mississippi State University. Dr. Breen provides expertise in local and state government, human resources management, demography, survey research, and statistics. Dr. Breen combines his academic expertise with his public service and applied research talents to promote the health and well-being of the citizens of the State of Mississippi.
Dr. Breen has extensive research expertise in a number of policy areas and applied research fields, including broadband access, economic well-being, and public health, notably serving as principal investigator on a significant number of policy studies for the State of Mississippi and other entities. Dr. Breen works closely with a number of organizations promoting civic education in underserved areas of the State of Mississippi to promote a better quality of life for all. Dr. Breen provides yearly training to newly elected officials in Mississippi at multiple association meetings throughout the State of Mississippi.
Dr. Breen is currently the Chair of the Mississippi Certified Public Manager Program Advisory Board, the President-elect of the Mississippi Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration, the past president of the Consortium of University Public Service Organizations, and also serves as the Treasurer of the Southeastern Conference for Public Administration (SECOPA). Dr. Breen has served as the SECOPA Collins Award Committee Chair for the past five years and serves as a journal reviewer for a number of scholarly journals in the fields of political science, public policy, and public administration.
